WHAT ARE CARD BREAKS?
Card breaks are a budget friendly way to participate in product opening and have fun with fellow hobbyists and collectors. Here at Halftime Collectibles we run a variety of card breaks for collectors to participate in. As a general rule all cards will ship from our breaks, not just the "hits", but please make sure to read the details of any specific break posting for details. Below is a brief explanation of each type of break we offer.
PICK YOUR TEAM (PYT)
Pick your teams breaks are where you can purchase a slot associated with a specific team for the break. In this type of break it's common for prices to vary between teams based on a variety of factors. These types of breaks are great if you happen to collect a specific team because it gets you a chance to collect all the cards of that team.
RANDOMIZED TEAM STYLE
In a Random Team break all of the spots are set at a fixed price. Before the cards are opened the list of people participating in the break and the order of teams will be randomized using Random.org to determine which collector matches up with each team/spot for the break. In certain product breaks there will be team combo spots where we combine two teams into one spot. This is typically based on teams that have a lower chance of hits in a specific product. Those details will be outlined in the break posting.
SERIAL NUMBERS
Serial number breaks can be used on higher end products where you get fewer cards per box. Each participant is assigned a number from 0-9 on Random.org. The number represents the first number of the card numbering. For example, if you are assigned the number 5, you would get cards that are serial numbered 5/10 and 65/149. If the card doesn't have a limited number, it goes by the cards set number. If it doesn't have either of those, then the card would be randomed off to the entire break.
PERSONAL BREAKS
In some instances we offer personal box breaks which means that the customer receives all contents of a break to themselves. The opening would be live streamed like other breaks on our YouTube channel, before being shipped to the customer. Break Rules
COLLEGIATE AND OTHER UNLICENSED PRODUCTS
For the college products opened in our group breaks the cards will always be assigned to their current team, not necessarily the team that drafted them. If the player is retired (or a free agent or without a team for whatever reason), it will go to the team they spent the majority of their career within terms of years played. If they played for multiple teams for the same amount of time, the number of games played for most for that team will determine the tie break.
MULTIPLAYER CARD RANDOM RULES
Some products have cards with multiple players or teams. At the end of the break we random these to the appropriate customers using Random.org. If a card has more than one player, it would be randomed between the people who had the spots represented on the card. For example, if there are two people on the card, the owners of those spots would be the ones it's randomed between spots. If there are 3 or more spots each one still gets a equal shot in the randomizer at the end. In those cases if the same person owns more than one of the spots (like 2 of the 3 on a tri-card) they will get an entry in the drawing for each spot.
PRODUCTS ARE OPENED LIVE
We stream live from our YouTube channel at the time designated in the break listing. If you are unable to watch live, you can go back and watch the uploaded videos at a later time. All videos are uploaded within a reasonable time after the break is finished.
WHIFFING IN A BREAK
Because of the nature of randomized card breaks we obviously have no idea what is in the packs, boxes, or cases of cards until they are opened. It is entirely possible for a spot to not receive any product from the break. While customers should understand that this is part of group breaks and needs to be taken into consideration when purchasing a break spot, as fellow hobbyists we understand how that can be frustrating and we will make sure that you receive something for your break spot at our discretion.
REFUNDS
THERE IS A 5% CANCELLATION FEE FOR ANY AND ALL REFUNDS.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE SAME DAY AS THE BREAK OR ONCE THE BREAK TAKES PLACE
